All About Digee

Ladies, Genies, and Gentlemen. It is I, Digee The Genie!

Art by Mischa M

As you’ve probably guessed from the URL and the headline, I’m a genie. I wasn’t always — I used to be human — but the hows, whys, and wild tales behind that transformation aren’t really the sort of thing for a personal website.

In short: don’t go around rubbing suspicious-looking lamps expecting a genie to pop out.

About this website

Site Generation: Flask

Site Built with Astro

This website was made with Flask.

Flask is my site generator of choice when making my websites — woven from Python with a little bit of Jinja2 for spice. It does everything from simple routing to creating elaborate pages with minimal fuss. It is my ever faithful sidekick, ready for the fight when needed, and politely keeping to the shadows when not.

Webhosting: Neocities

Site Hosted with Neocities

This website is hosted on Neocities.

Neocities is my cosy little corner of the old web, a safe haven from the algorithms and attention leeches that prowl the modern internet. It’s where sites are hand-crafted with love, glitter, and maybe a touch of chaos — just like the good old days. They’ll even host it for free, and if you slip them a wholly reasonable $5 a month, you get shiny perks like your very own personalised domain and a few extra magical trinkets for your site.

Blog: OMG.lol

Digee's Blog is hosted on OMG.lol.

OMG.lol is my little digital palace — part calling card, part soapbox, part chaotic cupboard where I keep all the oddities that don’t fit anywhere else. It’s blissfully free of pushy algorithms and noisy ads, letting me share thoughts, links, and questionable ideas entirely on my own terms. For a laughably small yearly tribute, they throw in shiny extras like custom domains, email forwarding, and an ever-expanding toybox of quirky, wonderful services.

Theme: Transparent Glow by EGGRAMEN

This website’s theme is based on the Transparent Glow Page style created by EGGRAMEN.

EGGRAMEN has an entire wardrobe of pre-made HTML/CSS themes, ready for you to slip onto your own site like a snazzy new outfit. But they don’t stop at CSS — their shelves are also stocked with curious wonders in linguistics and other fascinating fields. I highly recommend wandering through their creations; you never know what delightful oddity you’ll stumble across.

Background Art: Keep In Mind (Kim Houtzager)

Kim Houtzager: Keep in Mind

Background Art, as well as several other pieces of art, created by Kim “Kitty Ocean” Houtzager.

Kim is a Netherlands-based artist who has been creating commercial art for over ten years through her business, “Keep in Mind”. In addition to her commissioned work, she publishes a weekly comic, Pen-I, which offers a charming look at life in her hometown of Nieuwegein, Utrecht.
